Shukudai Friends
Turn homework into time spent with friends.

Shukudai Friends is a mobile app designed to lower the psychological barrier to starting homework and help children build positive study habits.
Children study alongside unique animal companions and receive words of appreciation and collectible stickers when they finish. As they continue each day, their relationships with the characters deepen and new conversations and stories gradually unfold.
A new reason to start homework
When children struggle to begin their homework, repeated reminders can become stressful for both children and parents.
In Shukudai Friends, a companion sits beside the child and works on their own task at the same time. The app aims to take away the loneliness of studying alone, so that “I want to spend time together again today” becomes the reason to start homework.
Game design centered on relationships
The experience is built around relationships with characters.
The companions are neither teachers nor supervisors. They are supportive partners who may have their own weaknesses, but always sit down and work alongside the child.
Daily study leads to new conversations, collectible stickers, new encounters, and changes in the story and world. There are no rankings or excessive rewards to drive competition, and no penalty for days without study. The game is designed to help children begin real-world homework and put the device down with a positive feeling when they finish. The app shows no ads.
Bringing spring to a winter island
The story takes place on an island of animals buried in snow. Children visit places around the island and spend time with the companions who live there, alternating between focus and relaxation.
The more they study together, the more the snow melts and plants begin to sprout. Winter turns to spring, and new stickers are added to the sticker book.

Development status
We are preparing a beta test ahead of the release in 2027. On November 8, 2026, we will exhibit at Sumida Kosodate Messe, a parenting fair in Sumida, Tokyo.
A dedicated website for the app is coming soon.
